An Opportunity to Network and Learn!
Please join us for NMIDEA's 3rd Quarter Professional Development Session , which will be held at the Ocotillo Performing Arts Center in beautiful downtown, Artesia, NM. NMIDEA promotes New Mexico's economic growth through focused advocacy of economic development issues, providing networking, professional development, education, and training opportunities for its members as well as economic development practitioners or those who just want to learn more about economic development in New Mexico.
NMIDEA encourages attendance as a way to network with colleagues (new and seasoned EDO's) and learn about new and exciting changes to our industry. This session will include a summary of the outcome of the legislative session specific to bills that might impact economic development initiatives; updates from our partners at NMMEP and the NMSBA programs; learn about the new Catalyst Program; and how your community can apply for a state grant through the LEADS program.
The final topic will outline what it takes to become a certified economic development professional (CEcD) through IEDC. Economic developers tend to talk in "alphabet soup", so if you want to better understand the economic development profession, you have to learn these acronyms.
The majority of the sessions will be held on Friday, April 15th, but if you wish to join us in Clay Shooting (2:30 p.m.) on Thursday, April 14th, please RSVP to Michael Bunt at firstname.lastname@example.org or skip shooting and just join us for dinner/networking at 7:30 p.m. at the Adobe Rose Restaurant.
Finally, if you're an IDEA member, thank you for helping to develop New Mexico's economy, workforce and quality of life. If you're not a member, please consider joining us in this worthwhile professional association.
